Small trades to help the Miami Heat improve depth: Dorian Finney-Smith

This trade would do wonders for Miami’s bench depth. Dorian Finney-Smith is the perfect player to have coming off the bench in Miami’s system.

Finney-Smith had a phenomenal season last year in Dallas on both ends of the floor. He is a 6-7 power forward that can guard the three through five.

Last year, he averaged 9.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting 47.2% from the field and 39.8% from deep. His shooting would be a huge boost for the Heat at the power forward position.

He is the ideal forward to have on the roster and would be a huge upgrade from Markieff Morris. Finney-Smith is just so much more versatile, and he could realistically steal PJ Tucker’s starting job.

The 28-year-old brings just as much on the defensive end as he does on offense. He’s a strong, physical defender who can guard players much larger than him.

He played a big role for Dallas in the playoffs last year, and the year prior. Having his versatility would be an amazing upgrade for Miami.

However, it may be difficult to trade for him, seeing as he started every game he played in for the Mavs last year. However, giving them KZ Okpala, Morris, and a couple of draft picks could get it done.
