Just like the Suns did last pick, the Charlotte Hornets take the same player they did in the original 2019 NBA Draft. PJ Washington has shown some solid potential, and the Hornets desperately need big men.

Washington has played pretty well during his time in Charlotte. He has mainly played power forward, but last season, he spent a bunch of time at the center position.

Before they acquired Mason Plumlee this summer, the Hornets didn’t really have a go-to starting center. Washington is crucial to their game plan moving forward considering how poor their depth is at the big man position.

He’s not a great rebounder, but he has improved his defense and three-point shooting in his two NBA seasons. His floor spacing will pair beautifully next to LaMelo Ball for years to come.

The Hornets take the best big man available to them at this point in the draft. Washington stays in Charlotte, even in this 2019 re-draft.
