Miami Heat Roundtable: How Far Will This Team Go This Season – Isiah’s Take

For what would be their second time in 19 months, the Miami Heat have an opportunity to reach the NBA Finals next June. Forbid the possibilities of injuries and COVID-19 protocols derailing the title picture, the margin of error for Miami or any NBA team, is very little.

Isiah’s Take (@isiah_nba)

The Heat’s fate next season will be a Conference Finals exit. They’re a team well equipped with unselfishness and a competitive edge, as they’ll likely defeat teams such as Atlanta, Boston, and even the defending champion, Milwaukee Bucks.

However, there’s only one team in the East that can keep Miami from having a terrific run and it’s the Brooklyn Nets. Despite some recent offseason murmurs, the Nets will enter next season with the intent of winning a title and if they’re healthy, there might not be a team that can beat them in a seven game series.

With the offensive firepower, as well as adding several veteran free-agents to their bench, they still have three of the NBA’s top-ten players in Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving. The Heat would have to be crisp in their defensive rotations and most especially in isolation scenarios, but  inconsistent offensive help around Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Kyle Lowry could be too unpredictable to outlast the best offense in the league.

Unfortunately, the Heat go down to the Brooklyn Nets. The series will finish 4-2.

Official Prediction: Eastern Conference Finals
