Miami Heat: Remember… Giannis Has To Guard Bam Adebayo Too

While the guy typically matching up with Giannis, a guy big enough, will likely never be able to fully contest his shot for fear of being blown by, that’s not an issue for Bam. There’s also something else.

Bam has re-bulked his body. He’s noticeably more muscular, more tenacious, and just seems to be playing bigger early on in the preseason thus far.

That comes in handy, not only, on the defensive side of the ball but in the fact that Giannis will also have to guard Bam and that means eating a few dropped shoulders of his own. They say that it ain’t no fun when the rabbit has the gun and Giannis will, likely, see what that feels like this season.

So, while his improvements in combination with all that he has been is very scary to anybody that is the opposition, it shouldn’t frighten Miami Heat fans too much.

With a re-bulked Bam looking to cement himself as a top-defender and with NBA DPOY hardware in his sights, it’ll be fine.

It better be. It has to be.
