Miami Heat: 3 Who Had Spectacular Preseason – Kyle Lowry & Bam Adebayo

Bam Adebayo was terrific, averaging about 16 points per game on 64 percent shooting and in just 18 minutes per game. He was effective on the floor and his presence was felt on the defensive end, as it normally is.

Bam Adebayo

With Bam as Miami’s defensive anchor, opposing teams struggled to take care of the ball, resulting in a lot of Miami Heat steals and transition buckets on the other end.

Although he didn’t play too many minutes in the preseason, when he was on the floor, he appeared more willing to have the ball in his hands. He developed a very crafty arsenal of moves that helped him get easy inside shots and midrange jumpers.

He looked less timid and made quick and assertive decisions with the ball. When Bam didn’t have the ball, he was being fed inside for easy layups and dunks, which brings us to our next player.

Kyle Lowry

Kyle Lowry has already proven why he is such a valuable asset to a championship team. Lowry assisted on a play nearly every chance he got.

He led the Miami Heat in both assists (7.3) and steals (2.7), which placed him third in both categories. The chemistry on the floor already looks very natural, despite the fact that Lowry is yet to play in an official NBA game with the Miami Heat.

Lowry has been a general on both ends, leading the charge and making everyone around him better. Bam Adebayo is just one example of a player that has clearly benefited from his presence.

Duncan Robinson is another, as in just a few minutes together, it is clear that the sharpshooter will get plenty of open looks this season off of Lowry’s passes. When he does, it is just automatic.

Lowry’s basketball IQ has been awe-inspiring so far. In just a few practices with the team, it is clear that Lowry already knows his personnel.

Take a look at this clip of him dropping dimes. The first one particularly shows how Lowry is willing to give up open shots because he knows that P.J. Tucker, a corner specialist, is also open.

The next guy though, he’s been nothing less than a marvel to behold. You need no hints and he needs no introduction.
