Ranking Miami Heat’s Christmas Wins: The Big 3 Had To Get Some Payback

Revenge never felt better than how it did on the opening night of the 2011 season. The Heat watched as the Mavericks held their ring ceremony right in front of them, in a way, mocking them of what had transpired in the 2011 Finals.

Mario Chalmers said it best in the post-game interview, “It was Showtime.” The Heat showed no mercy, dominating Dallas, with the score not truly indicating how the game unfolded.

Dallas had to outscore Miami, 29-8, down the stretch just to lose by a tally of 105-94. James made sure the night was spoiled for Dallas, putting in 37 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.

Wade joined in with 26 points, eight rebounds, and six assists as well, including an insane play where Chalmers throws a lob to James, whom he instead tips to Wade for a slam. The Heat did whatever they wanted that night and exposed Dallas’s weak off-season moves, making them look foolish on their ring night.

The game, itself, to the casual viewer, could be considered boring but to Heat fans, every second of revenge was amazing. Narratively, this could easily be number one, but the Heat had bigger and better battles on Christmas Day.

The Heat wore their red jerseys and appropriately so, as they were out for blood.
