Miami Heat Still Have Guys In Protocols, But Keeping Them Bigger Than That

Chris Silva knows he isn’t the most talented on the floor, depending on what you call “talent” though and to that natural order of what are considered “stars”. He doesn’t have all the ball skills in the world, is what that means.

However, he does something better than most other guys in the league and on the face of the planet, when you consider that these are the best of the best athletes in the world. Chris Silva will outwork almost anyone.

It’s cliche, in itself, but also not cliche when you look at it. Chris Silva often finds himself in the middle of the ruckus or the fray, only to find himself coming out on top at the end.

He, routinely, finds himself in positions where he shouldn’t win or come out on the other side successful but does. That’s because he’s willing to leave it all on the line on every possession— and does.

That’s how he initially landed with the Miami Heat out of South Carolina, how he stuck for as long as he did, how he ended up back here and contributing in this situation among a slew of more talented or bigger guys (Aric Holman), and why he’s one of the two guys they are keeping around.

It isn’t a coincidence. So, while they are down a few guys at the moment while they are in protocols, these guys earning the right to stay is bigger than just that.

They’ve shown things in their tenures, though short ones. Hopefully, you can find a way to keep both Silva and Guy in your developmental programs beyond these deals— if not a regular two-way roster spot for one of them.
