Miami Heat: ‘Closing’ Issues May Look Similar But Aren’t Quite The Same

Even when you’ve had certain guys going together for a lot of the season, such as any two of Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, or Bam Adebayo but missing the third one, it’s still not a true reflection of what you hope to ultimately see.

To be specific, you have only seen the three main guys going together in 14 games this season and a total of 257 minutes. Across 52 games played, that’s only about five whole games worth of action as a trio on the floor, which isn’t a ton of live-game reps.

You also have guys that have yet to return from injury or they haven’t been able to get themselves back into the lineup, preventing them from totally gelling with the rest of the team.

Take a look at Kyle Lowry‘s current absence due to personal reasons, while injury has been the culprit with Bam Adebayo, Markieff Morris, and the imminently returning Victor Oladipo.

Never mind the league’s Health And Safety Protocols, though an absolutely essential and necessary tool in this day and age. There is one more small part to it all though.
