Miami Heat: Reminder That Scouting And Development Still The Best There Is

Time and time again, those answers or proof of such a phenomenon pokes its head out. Perhaps we were too far ahead of ourselves, as you could look at a couple of the current guys on the roster to make the case.

Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, Omer Yurtseven, Caleb Martin, and even Duncan Robinson are all examples of guys that other teams didn’t view as worthy enough, yet, the Miami Heat have proceeded to make all of them valuable players and commodities.

When you look at the former players, this case is evident too. A guy like Derrick Jones Jr. comes to mind, having not been able to stick for Phoenix when they were putrid (pre-Chris Paul Era) and not being able to have the same impact elsewhere since leaving Miami.

The same can be said of two other guys, in particular, that there were extremely high hopes for. When you look at Josh Richardson, recently traded to the San Antonio Spurs, and Justise Winslow, recently traded to Portland, they haven’t been the same guys since leaving Miami either.
