Miami Heat: Victor Oladipo Brings A Different Energy To Rotation

Back when Victor Oladipo played for the Indiana Pacers, he was a two-time NBA All-Star. In his best season, he averaged over 23 points and 2.4 steals per game.

Elite Scorer And Defender

He has consistently been a great two-way player in this league, scoring efficiently while providing excellent perimeter defense on the other end. In his first game back, Oladipo looked pretty impressive considering how long he has been out.

As expected, he experienced some rust with his ball handling. Some of the positive takeaways from the game were his explosiveness and his defense.

On offense, he used his speed to create shots for himself and for others. On defense, he took two charges, contributing to Miami’s top of the leaderboard positioning for the most charges drawn in the entire NBA.

Oladipo was on a minutes restriction on Monday though. We only saw a glimpse of what to expect.

What was clear was that Oladipo had no problem adjusting to his teammates. Some believe that Oladipo could return to the form of himself that we saw in Indiana.

That might be hard to do but based on what we saw in his 2022 debut, it might be possible. Regardless, the production Oladipo provided against the Rockets should be enough if he continues to match that type of production.
