The Miami Heat are dead in the middle of what could and stands a strong chance to be a deep run through the NBA Postseason. Heading into their second-round matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, they are coming off utter domination of the eight seeded Atlanta Hawks in their first-round series.

With player-personnel scenarios playing out as the NBA playoffs sort themselves out, teams in flux, teams being eliminated, and some teams, of course, trying to figure out how they’re not on the outside looking in next season and beyond, there is a lot of looking towards the deal-making offseason taking place.

If you take one breeze through social media, your favorite national, or local news source’s sports section, perhaps one of the many all-sports outlets and still digital more than likely, you might come across some interesting news, headlines, or rumors.

Oh, there are a ton out there. Trust us.

The Miami Heat are, surely, preparing for their second-round 76ers matchup at the moment. However, the NBA rumor mill has other plans for their focus.

You won’t get any specifics here though—not yet, not right now. That’s exactly what it all has to do with the Miami Heat though.

With the focus needing to be on their second-round duel with the Joel Embiid and James Harden Philadelphia 76ers, a version of the team the Miami Heat have never played nonetheless, the comings and goings of any player, in particular, shouldn’t be that important at the moment.

That stands especially in those matters that concern players that aren’t already on the Heat’s roster. That can’t be something to distract the team, those players, the attention of the fans, or anyone for that matter.

All of that energy should be spent focusing on the next part of the Heat’s task at hand. Listen though, we get it.

While the fans can’t do anything about it on the surface, from a literal transactional perspective, they can help direct the conversation. And currently, that is a conversation that should probably focus more on certainties.

The things that aren’t certain—a ton of that which you have probably already been privy to—should be of the least concern at the moment. Besides, none of that will definitely happen.
