Miami Heat: The Cons Of Trading For Bradley Beal
Beal has been known as a really good three-point shooter but this past year, he only shot 30 percent from three.
Cons
In fact and if you look a little further back to the year before, he only shot 34.9 percent from three.
Good shooters always have peaks and valleys but Beal has struggled from three over the past couple of years. It’s not saying he’s lost it, but it is definitely something to keep an eye on.
The biggest thing about Beal potentially coming to Miami is how much Miami wants to give up for him. That, likely, would mean losing Herro, Duncan Robinson, and a couple of picks—at the very least.
Giving up Herro and Robinson is not the issue, but giving up two to three draft picks along the way would be something to not feel so great about. Beal isn’t great defensively but in Miami’s system, you have to ask yourself if he would be better?
There is also this. He does have an injury history as well.
Either way you slice it, Miami could stand to make a win-now move this offseason. And you have to imagine that it’s via the trade market.
They have other options that they could look at as well too though. There is also one last thing to mention on Beal.
Getting your hopes up for Beal might be a bit much right now as he can sign a five-year deal worth $250 million to stay in Washington. And honestly, you couldn’t fault Beal for taking that deal.
The Miami Heat are in a good position to make a deal, whether it’s for Beal or someone else, but it’s time to get trophy number four. Making a deal is one of the most surefire ways to get it done while Jimmy is playing at this elite level.
