Miami Heat: Where Each Free Agent Lands – Markief Morris And Caleb Martin

Markieff Morris didn’t get too much of a chance to play for the Miami Heat last season.

Prediction: Markieff Morris Leaves For Another Team

He suffered a neck injury against the Denver Nuggets early in the season and didn’t return until just before the postseason. There wasn’t much of a chance for Morris to play in the Miami Heat rotation.

Although he is a good fit with Miami’s team values, he is likely to end up somewhere else next season. It didn’t work out as well as one would have hoped for Morris in Miami.

That being said, other teams know that he is still a hard-working veteran who can contribute to a playoff roster. Look for teams like the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers to target Markieff Morris this offseason.

Prediction: Caleb Martin Re-signs With Miami Heat

Caleb Martin is a restricted free agent this offseason, so the Heat can match any offer Martin might receive. This will not be an issue though.

Martin has already expressed interest in returning to the Miami Heat and they will likely be interested in keeping him. Caleb was an important piece off the bench for the Heat last season.

If he stays with the team and continues to develop, he can see his role expand. The Heat are impressed with Martin’s athleticism and defensive habits.

For that reason, he is a player the Heat would want to keep. However, he still has more development to do offensively if he wants to be considered a player the Heat must keep at all costs.
