Miami Heat: A Look At Some Of The Summer Signees – Jamaree Bouyea

Jamaree Bouyea was a standout talent this year in the West Coast Conference with San Francisco averaging 17 points, five rebounds (despite being just 6’ 2”), and four assists per game. Bouyea is a very capable shooter and offensive talent.

Where he seems most translatable is as being a potential Gabe Vincent replacement if he is moved during this offseason in the Heat’s attempt to make a big splash move on the trade market.

Bouyea is a very capable off-the-dribble shooter, finishing the season shooting a couple of decimal points shy of 37 percent to go along with 47 percent, overall, from the field.

Additionally, when he truly focuses defensively, he is quite talented, as he averaged nearly 2 steals a game.

Where he falters is that he sometimes gambles, forcing teammates into scramble drills or just giving up easy looks as the on-ball defender. With him being a four-year college player, you can find a little bit of concern for his ability to change his ways.
