Miami Heat: Haywood Highsmith’s ceiling for 2022-23 season

That’s where Haywood Highsmith comes into the picture. More specifically, that’s where the ceiling and floor on his role for the coming 2022-23 season come into focus.

Ceiling: A Burgeoning P.J. Tucker Lite

Haywood Highsmith actually has a lot of the same tools as Tucker and in a very similar body. Though Tucker is proven at this point, Highsmith looks a lot like him as far as their game goes.

Also. Trading Jimmy Butler for Anthony Davis wouldn’t make sense. light

Highsmith is physical and is able to play close to the rim at his listed 6’7″ size. Defensively, he can comfortably stay in front of most guys, it seems, and his mentioned size and physicality should make him a potentially high-impact defender on dynamic forwards and wings.

This is all very similar to Tucker.

He is capable of hitting the three and though you don’t like his efficiency in limited regular season experience or this most recent summer circuit, you like his comfort at range and shooting form, as it shows promise with more open and consistent looks during the regular year.
