Miami Heat: Most Important Stat For Tyler Herro In The 2022-23 NBA Season

If the defensive side of the ball shouldn’t be Herro’s biggest priority to improve in the coming season, then what should be? Let’s look into it.

No one needs or expects Herro to start averaging two steals and a block each game. Incredible though that would be, Herro’s defense should improve beyond the stats.

So, if defensive stats are not the most important stats for Tyler Herro next season, then what is? That would be his turnover numbers and more specifically, his assist-to-turnover ratio.

Last season, Herro averaged four assists and 2.6 turnovers per game, resulting in an assist-to-turnover ratio of about 1.54. From those stats, you can clearly see that the 2.6 turnovers per game were quite a bit.

To put things into perspective, Russell Westbrook had a better assist-to-turnover ratio last season than Herro. What, exactly, does that mean though?
