Miami Heat: Should Tyler Herro Be The Starting Shooting Guard? – Max’s Take
A lot of people have different opinions on who should be the Miami Heat’s starting shooting guard, but it seems pretty obvious who it should be.
Max’s Take – Tyler Herro Should Be The Starter
It should be Tyler Herro. Miami, a couple of weeks ago, extended Herro on a four-year deal at $130 million.
The time is now for Herro to be a starter for Miami and that money says it. Herro would play a bit of a different role than he would if he were still to come off the bench, admittedly.
However, you might like what you see if Herro is to be used as a catch-and-shoot guy in the starting lineup. Kyle Lowry and Jimmy Butler have the ball in their hands most of the time.
Herro would benefit from being off the ball more, further expanding his ability. Herro, as more of a secondary ball-handler for Miami, could be beneficial for him and his team.
One thing you’d like to see more of if he is in the starting lineup is more pick-and-rolls between Bam Adebayo and him. It would seem to make it a point to get Bam the ball, while furthering Herro’s ability as a playmaker.
The Future of Miami is in the hands of those two, being the important reason for that dynamic to continue to develop. Oladipo could have a Herro-like impact off the bench for Miami.
It would also allow Miami needs to see if Herro can hold his own defensively as well in the starting unit. They made an investment in the guy and need to begin to fully see the return, even if the money hasn’t kicked in yet.
