Miami Heat: Bam Adebayo’s High ‘All-Star Snub’ Probability Despite Brilliance

Just a season removed from being the number one seed in the Eastern Conference and a Jimmy Butler three-pointer away from reaching the 2022 NBA Finals, the Miami Heat currently find themselves in play-in territory out East.

Miami Heat Inconsistency

While that would still put them in a playoff position, the Heat have clearly fallen short of expectations this season. Part of the reason for this record has been constant injuries throughout the lineup.

Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, and Victor Oladipo have all missed significant time. Bam Adebayo has missed a decent chunk of games himself.

Another major reason is that the Heat have had several close games this season and failed to win many of those games which they could and should have won. It is difficult to predict where the Heat currently stand compared to the rest of the NBA.

When fully healthy, they have beaten very strong teams like the Boston Celtics but they have also been defeated by some of the weaker teams like the San Antonio Spurs and a Lakers team without LeBron James or Anthony Davis.

Team success is something that is on a voter’s mind. Since the Heat have been rather inconsistent this season and have failed to meet expectations as a result, voters might be wary about selecting Bam Adebayo as an All-Star.

The Heat have a chance to go on a big win streak before voting ends to increase Bam’s chances of getting selected. However, this seems unlikely, as Miami has an extremely tough schedule for the rest of January.

Still, the Heat are going to need to win more than a few of those games, as it will ultimately decide their fate in April.
