The Miami Heat Need To Think Hard And, Perhaps, All While Fighting Off Dallas

Kyle Lowry, who is about to hit double digits when it comes to missed games, is expected to return soon. So, is there even room for Dragić?

Lowry will return to the starting lineup, moving Gabe Vincent back to the bench. While Vincent is more of a shooting guard than a point, that’d be too many small guards on the floor.

If Erik Spoelstra can make it happen, by all means, you do it as you’ve seen him figure it out before with Nunn, Herro, and Dragić but does this team need that? They certainly need a lot of things.

But is that what it is? That’s the second question but leads to the last question, which is actually more of a hurdle.

Can they keep Dragić away from the Dallas Mavericks? It’s been in question for a while now, you know, the one that goes “when will Luka Doncić and Dragić team up?”

They appear to be good buddies off the court and a pairing makes sense. Dragić could be a good bench piece for them, especially when one or both of Kyrie Irving or Doncić needed a break.

There is also the familiarity that exists with Irving too, with Dragic having played for Brooklyn last season. He can be an effective catch-and-shoot player and could also become another ball handler for the team, allowing them to get those other two guys out of the main friction to help free them up if need be.

While nothing is set in stone and while the Mavericks may not even have him on their radar, you have to wonder about it with all of the connections and ties that exist there.

Predicting

And that’s how you feel about the entire Dragon scenario, as though it does make sense for the Miami Heat, needing an offensive spark and seeing Lowry miss extended time again this year, these are three reasons why it’s unlikely to happen.
