1 Pro and 1 Con from Each Player on the Miami Heat’s 2023-24 Current Roster

Kyle Lowry:

Pro: Despite his decline, Kyle Lowry is a seasoned veteran with championship experience. He’s familiar with the road toward the title in the Eastern Conference, meaning his IQ alone is a value-add to the Heat. His pesky manner on both ends is still highlighted with his skill in drawing fouls on offense and causing turnovers on the other end.

Con: Lowry shouldn’t be expected to produce at such a high level, knowing he’s 37 years old, but his massive contract of nearly $30 million next season says otherwise. If the Heat have to fork up that portion of the salary cap for Lowry, making him the third highest-paid player on the team, they may have to count on him as their floor general.

Kevin Love:

Pro: Similar to Kyle Lowry, the biggest positive to Kevin Love’s game is his experience. Love is another player that’s had the privilege of lifting up the championship trophy in the Eastern Conference. With the retirement of Udonis Haslem, Love, and Lowry will be vital pieces for the Heat’s vocal leadership. On the court, he makes winning plays like taking charges, knocking down threes, and opening fast break opportunities.

Con: Love took a massive dip in terms of his 3-point percentage last season. He’s had multiple seasons in his career where he’s shot over 40% from 3 and holds a career 37% average. During his first season in Miami, Love shot 29.7% from distance, marking his lowest average since his rookie season. He’ll need to be a more reliable shooter for the Heat, especially if they want to open lanes for Butler and Adebayo.
