Duncan Robinson’s impressive shooting stretch has not only helped lead the Miami Heat to three straight wins, it has also made him statistically the NBA’s best volume 3-point shooter.

After going 5 for 10 on 3s in Miami’s Christmas Day win over the 76ers and 4 for 7 from distance in Friday’s win over the Hawks, Robinson is now shooting a career-best 44.9% on 3s this season.

No one is shooting a better percentage on as many 3-point shots this season than Duncan Robinson.

Among players who are attempting at least seven 3-point attempts per game this season, Robinson has the highest shooting percentage. Right behind him are Tyler Herro (42.7%), CJ McCollum (42.2%), Stephen Curry (41.4%) and Tyrese Haliburton (41.3%).

Much of the attention on Robinson this season has been on the evolution of his dribble and pass game, but the 3-point shot remains his most elite skill. He’s shooting 52.5% on 3s over his last eight games, and he's 14 of 22 (63.6%) on 3s in his last four games.

This is after a two-year shooting slump in which Robinson shot 37.2% on 3s in 2021-22 and just 32.8% in 2022-23. Because of his shooting and defensive struggles, he was out of the rotation for most of last season until Herro’s hand injury in the playoffs thrust him back into a nightly role. He averaged 9 points on 44.2% shooting on 3s during the Heat’s surprising run to the Finals.

That playoff run helped set the stage for Robinson’s bounce-back season, and now he’s become a candidate for the Most Improved Player award.

Robinson is averaging career highs in points (15.1), field goal percentage (49.2%) and assists (3.1) in 29.1 minutes per game this season.

More importantly, Robinson’s leap has led to team success. With Robinson having reclaimed his spot among the league’s top shooters, the Heat as a team are shooting an NBA-best 39.5% on 3s this season.

The Heat, after ranking 25th in offensive efficiency last season, rank 14th in offensive rating this season.
