After a messy game in which they committed 22 turnovers and shot less than 50 percent from the free throw line, the Miami Heat (6-4) fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves (5-6) 103-91 at AmericanAirlines Arena Tuesday.

A+. 22 points, 14 rebounds, 10 blocks | Hassan Whiteside entered the season with the large task of cleaning up all of the Miami Heat’s mistakes, but even a great night like this wasn’t enough to clean up enough of them. The Heat, having turned the ball over and miss too many free throws, were just too messy. However, Whiteside was absolutely dominant. He got on a roll blocking shots, with three blocks in the opening quarter. He was finishing at the rim at a high rate (10-of-14) and giving the Heat second-chance opportunities. He’s just one guy, though, and the rest of the Heat just weren’t up to snuff Tuesday night.. C. Miami Heat. HASSAN WHITESIDE

SF. Miami Heat. LUOL DENG. A. 20 points, 6 rebounds | Luol Deng had his best game of the season. He was active, shooting well and rebounding often.

10 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block| Chris Bosh struggled with his shot tonight, going just 5-of-12 from the floor and missing all five of his 3-point attempts. Goran Dragic did a nice job finding him on a few pick-and-pops, but Bosh missed the shots. Still, it’s reassuring to see those two connecting.. PF. Miami Heat. CHRIS BOSH. C

GORAN DRAGIC. B+. 16 points, 9 assists, 2 rebounds| There have been a lot of games this season in which Goran Dragic would score a lot of points or get a lot of assists. Tonight, Dragic did both. He was involved in running the offense and did a nice job of fining his teammates while also getting shots for himself. It’s the kind of the game the Heat need from Dragic on a consistent basis, just not on nights when Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are struggling.. PG. Miami Heat

PG. Miami Heat. DWYANE WADE. C. 10 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds | Like Bosh, Dwyane Wade couldn’t get his shot to fall, going just 5-of-13 from the floor. More alarmingly, Wade didn’t attempt a single free throw. That’s a departure from his normally aggressive game, which begs the question: Is he feeling okay?

D-. 0 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist | We’re used to Josh McRoberts not scoring. He’s not a scorer. He’s a teammate, a passer and a glue guy. But, Tuesday, he didn’t fill in the cracks. He was a minus-18 plus/minus, and coach Erik Spoelstra playing him just 12 minutes shows he wasn’t getting the job done against the Wolves.. PF. Miami Heat. JOSH MCROBERTS

B-. 8 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal | Justise Winslow was one of Miami’s most aggressive players on offense, getting to the line 10 times. He scored 8 points despite going just 1-of-2 from the floor. His defense was strong, as usual, as well.. SF. Miami Heat. JUSTISE WINSLOW

3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist | Tyler Johnson, like the rest of the bench, just couldn’t get it going tonight, making just one of his six shots.. PG. Miami Heat. TYLER JOHNSON. D

D. 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist | Gerald Green is back, but his shot is not. He made just one of his five shots and missed both 3-pointers he attempted.. SG. Miami Heat. GERALD GREEN
