Wes: Dwyane Wade is quite obviously the Most Valuable Player to the Miami Heat this season. He was the most consistent player during an up-and-down season and thrived in almost every situation. He played well alongside Chris Bosh, in Bosh’s absence and was Hassan Whiteside’s greatest pick-and-roll companion. Don’t call him vintage. This isn’t the Wade of old. This is an evolved version of Wade who uses the old man game and LeBron-like efficiency to devastate opponents in the post and carry his oft-injured team in the playoff mix until the very end.
Allana: I think this one is self-explanatory. The Miami Heat had one heck of a disastrous season, true, but imagine what it would have looked like without Dwyane Wade. Plus, if you go off of just numbers alone, he averaged 21.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Given his age, physical condition and the general status of the team around him…that is pretty darn good. Not to mention he scored over 30 points on seven different occasions.
