A former Heat rival that defeated the team in a playoff series joining the Heat? It’s happened before with Ray Allen. Danny Green would be an intriguing fit with the franchise.
Last year, Green averaged a career high of 11.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game on 43% shooting from the field and 41% from three. Green played a career high of 28.5 minutes per game.
He posted a career high of 16.5 PER last season, hopefully meaning a bigger role could bring a chance for him to break out, like Middleton.
The issue with Green is that many people see him as a product as the Spurs system. This is a fair worry, as we saw Gary Neal fall apart as a player upon his departure from San Antonio.
I do believe in Danny Green’s game translating in another system, especially one such as Miami that would potentially play to his strengths of being a spot up, deadly 3-point shooter.
