Ray Allen
This last one is likely the least likely scenario out of all the ones mentioned. But Ray Allen, the man with the most famous shot in Miami, could be a potential replacement for Wade.
Allen last played in the NBA for the Heat team that lost to the Spurs in the 2013-2014 NBA finals, before sitting out last season when LeBron bolted Miami for Cleveland.
While this idea is fun in theory, Allen will be 40-years old next season and the 2013-2014 season was the worst one of his long hall of fame career. Allen averaged a career low 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 26 minutes per game.
He shot just 44% from the field and 38% from 3-point range. Along with that, Allen was a liability for the Heat on defense.
While Allen has had a strong hall of fame campaign, he’s nowhere near the player that should be starting on a team that has championship aspirations.
