Bio: Blinn College, Acquired by the Heat after being waived by the Denver Nuggets in 2013, played for the Nuggets and New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans prior to joining Heat.

Why he’s here: During the Big Three Era, the center position was a bit of a revolving door. A few guys worked for a little bit, but none impacted the game AND team the way Birdman did. He was the most athletic big the Heat had (outside of Bosh) during that time, and gave them a solid rebounder and defender who could also finish at the rim. His importance can also be felt elsewhere, as he was tasked to kickstart the Heat’s famous Harlem Shake video:
