Rookie Justise Winslow used his new fame to give back.
A St. John graduate, Winslow returned to his former high school in order to spread the love. Winslow, who was a four-year starter at the Houston, Texas school was the 2013 Gatorade Texas Player of the Year, as well as selected as a McDonald’s All-American in 2014. During his last year there, he averaged 27.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.1. blocks and 1.8 steals a game.
He went on to attend college at Duke, where he played for only one season before deciding to enter the draft. He was named ACC Freshman of the Week, and earned honorable mention All-ACC honors.
