In 2009, the organization announced it would be retiring NBA great Tim Hardaway’s jersey, that upcoming season.

His No. 10 jersey was honored in a pre-game ceremony prior to Miami’s season-opener (October 28) against the New York Knicks. He was only the second Heat player to have his jersey retired, alongside Alonzo Mourning.
