After a year of pure mediocrity, Pat Riley and the Miami Heat have put together a roster that they think is poised for a championship run. Their starting five is packed with star talent, but it’s time to take a look at where they rank among the Eastern Conference and if they have enough to get back to the NBA Finals for the first time since LeBron James’ departure.
The Heat have Dwyane Wade, Goran Dragic and a (hopefully) healthy Chris Bosh, but there are a handful of teams in the East would argue that their starting five is superior. The Cleveland Cavaliers will have basically the same exact lineup as last year, and they were only two games from taking home the Larry O’Brien trophy.
And I’m sure fans from the Windy City believe their Chicago Bulls, with a healthy Derrick Rose, are contenders. Plenty of teams think they have the stars to get the job done, but now we take an in-depth look at which contender has the best starting five in the East.
