In 1998, the league announced that the start of Training Camps that season had been postponed indefinitely.

At the time, there were stalled collective bargaining negotiations with the National Basketball Players Association. Yikes.

But it got worse. That year, the NBA entered their second ever lockout; the season did not start until February 5, 1999, and consisted of a shortened 50-game regular season schedule.
