Last year on this day, the Heat had an intrasquad scrimmage at the AmericanAirlines Arena. This came shortly after the birth of hashtags #HeatLifer and #HeatNation, things that became trending topics that summer as a reaction to LeBron James’ departure.
This event was not only the first time the team officially regrouped on their home court, but it also served as a way to start honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month; the organization added a touch of pink to the players’ shooting shirts.
