Issues on Defense
Oct 4, 2015; Miami, FL, USA; Charlotte Hornets guard Jeremy Lin (7) is pressured by Miami Heat forward Amar
As many positives as there are from the game, the main concern has to be Miami’s backcourt defense. The Heat gave up a combined 59 points to the Hornets guards, including 21 from reserve Brian Roberts. Roberts went against the Heat’s second unit guards–Chalmers and Green mostly–which will struggle collectively.
Kemba Walker also scored 17 points, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Both Dragic and Wade had a hard time keeping up with his probing and juking, and he created launching space for himself on multiple occasions.
The Heat lost the 3-point shooting battle 41.4 percent (12-of-29) to 18.8 percent (3-of-16). As good as Miami looked at times, you aren’t going to wins games in today’s NBA like that.
