Miami Heat vs San Antonio Spurs: Game Notes and Quotes

Tyler Johnson Back!

After suffering a broken jaw in a nasty summer league collision, fan favorite Tyler Johnson had his best game of the preseason with a 14-point explosion that helped lift the Heat over the Spurs.

At plus-18, he has the team’s best plus-minus on the night and was a core part of the young group that led the comeback.

You have to love his energy, the pace with which he plays, and his general ability to handle the ball and go full speed while also making plays happen. It’s a rare ability shared by NBA starting point guards.

Maybe he doesn’t have all the tools to be a starter, but he’s certainly making a case to earn more minutes as the backup point guard behind Goran Dragic.
