Um, yes. I think the entire universe recalls that.
And it definitely took us all by surprise.
But that is not why the Heat had a bad season. At least not the only reason.
Which is why it makes more sense to focus on the fact that James helped bring the organization two more titles. And helped revive the notion of a super team (whether or not that is a good thing, is a whole other discussion…) Not to mention that without him, there is a good possibility that Bosh may have never made his way over to Miami. Let alone become so invested in it.
With Wade nearing retirement, Bosh is set to be the next face of the franchise. And although his time left in the league is somewhat limited too, there is still something to be said about being in such a position.
James leaving was painful. And I can probably speak for the entirety of Heat Nation when I say he is greatly missed. But let us say thank you for the good times, instead of forever dwelling on his departure, eh?
