3. “Is Pat Riley ever happy?”

You are kidding me, right?
For people to say that the Heat president is never satisfied, is absurd. And to fault him for only wanting the best for his team, is even more so.
When the Big Three came to be, Riley seemed pretty thrilled.
When his organization won two back-to-back championships, Riley certainly celebrated.
When Wade re-signed with the team this summer, Riley definitely breathed a sigh of relief.
Did he love the hate thrown his way, after the summer of 2010? Probably not. Did he wish for a three-peat? Absolutely. Did he roll his eyes at Wade for taking as long as he did to decide to return for another year? Most likely. But always striving to be better, constantly working towards more, is hardly a negative quality.
Riley is not here to be a diplomat, giving the media only what they want. He is as real as they come, completely earning the title of NBA Godfather. Stop wanting him to be the cookie cutter version of a NBA president you wish he was. Because without Riley being Riley, the Miami Heat would not exist as we know them today.
