A balanced attack led the Miami Heat to an opening night win over the Charlotte Hornets.

The Miami Heat fended off a late rally by the Charlotte Hornets to come away with an opening night win and start the 2015-16 NBA season 1-0.

The revamped Heat looked good most of the night despite a slow start and finish. This game was like an Oreo. All the good stuff was in the middle. The Heat outscored the the Hornets 31-17 in the second quarter, including a 24-8 run, to take a 54-44 lead into halftime.

The Heat would lead by as much as 20 points before the Hornets rallied in the fourth quarter. It was too little, too late, though, and the Heat closed out the game and got the dubya.
