2. What will you miss most about Mario Chalmers?

Allana: Hm. I would say both his reactions when a foul is called against him, and his fortitude when being yelled at by the likes of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. But then again, there is also the abundance of truly wild jumpers… Rio is one of a kind, and Miami will not be the same without him. Sidenote, I cannot wait to see Chris’ response to this.

Wes: I’m going to miss that look of “I’m all that and a bag of chips” that is planted firm on his face out of either shear, unwavering, irrational confidence or complete ignorance. To this day, I’m still not sure which it was. Not that it matters. It’s what he do.

Chris: Seeing the way Allana got butterflies in her stomach whenever Chalmers made a good play. Pure magic.

Honestly, I don’t like the rationale behind the deal. I get giving Johnson time, but you could argue he was performing well alongside Chalmers. And if Richardson really is going to get his shot, then that is a more logical reason. But even bringing Udrih onboard doesn’t mesh with that. Not to mention the questions surrounding Green at the moment kind of tells me the Heat could use an insurance policy, just in case. This was a tax move, no matter how the Heat want to spin it. I just wish they’d just come out and admit that.

As for Chalmers, he’s a gamer. Sure, he’ll frustrate you to no end, but there wasn’t someone else who had that kind of moxie in big spots. He won a Finals game for the Heat! As much as you might not want to admit it, you loved him being out there. I wish him the best in Memphis.

Kris: What I am going to miss about Chalmers is that he was always ready to play. Sometimes he played well, other times not so much. But you could always count on him to compete and play with confidence.

Ehsan: I’ll miss a lot about Mario Chalmers. The guy had a ton of confidence and was never shy about taking big shots. He missed plenty, but he also helped the Heat win a huge finals game during the LeBron era. Hopefully Chalmers does well in Memphis, but its so odd not seeing him in a Heat uniform.
