Happy New Year, everyone. Here we go.

Justise Winslow is making an impact: Rob Mahoney at Sports Illustrated details how Justise Winslow is making an immediate impact with the Miami Heat, and where he has room to grow. Most interesting here is how Mahoney illustrates how Winslow is able to learn his teammates tendencies and fill the gaps in between. It makes me really excited to watch Winslow grow with this team.

The streak is over: With the NBA discontinuing its Shooting Stars competition during All Star Weekend, Chris Bosh and Team Bosh’s dynasty is over, writes Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Team Bosh has won the last three years.

Fourth quarter frustrations: Goran Dragic isn’t happy with how Miami’s offense operates when closing games. More specifically, he’s frustrated with Dwyane Wade’s isolations and pick-and-rolls with Hassan Whiteside dominating the offense, rather than ball movement.

Winslow’s worry: Justise Winslow is working with Chris Quinn to help improve his shooting. Winslow is shooting about 30 percent from everywhere outside the paint. Chris Quinn, while in the NBA, averaged shooting clips of nearly 40-38-81.

Richardson’s return: It was reported that Josh Richardson will indeed return to the Heat Sunday after he completes a brief stint in the D-League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Richardson, like Winslow, struggles to make shots. It’s made him unplayable at times, and he’s played sparingly this season.

Happy New Year: Allana Tachauer writes about every Miami Heat’s player’s New Year’s resolution. Chris Andersen’s is pretty obvious.
