3. Carlos Boozer
Carlos Boozer’s name has been floated around by fans for the better part of the season. He’s a veteran who can bring low-post scoring, passing skills from the elbow and rebounding to the Heat. He last played for the Lakers, where he struggled–but it’s the Lakers so I’m not sure you hold that entirely against him–and has been a free agent since.
Boozer is 34, but his legs should be fresh if he’s been keeping in shape this whole time. He’s been through playoff runs in the past and some great battles against the Heat when he played for the Chicago Bulls.
I think this is the move for Miami. Boozer could compete with McRoberts for playing time and add could contribute valuable veteran minutes in the playoffs. He’s competitive, and his age is less of a negative when the Heat may only need him for spot appearances.
With Boozer you know what you’re getting, and he could step in and contribute right away. We haven’t heard an official report that the Heat are interested in Boozer but, to me, one of those two spots should go to him.
