If it’s up to me, I’m signing Boozer and Wright.
There is plenty of time to sign and develop guys this summer. Besides, that’s what the D-League is for and most certainly not what the playoffs are for. If the Heat are going to sign guys to 10-day contracts, you might as well bring in bodies who can contribute right away.
Boozer adds insurance for McRoberts. Wright does the same for Green. The common theme here is trying to improve two week bench positions and possibly replace players Erik Spoelstra hasn’t shown a lot of trust in.
And don’t discount the hunger Boozer likely has to compete for a ring. Those things matter, as do their respective familiarities with the Heat either as teammate or close enemy. The Heat have an opportunity to make a run, and they should go all in by signing these two veterans.
