7. Amar’e Stoudemire

When Stoudemire arrived in Miami last offseason, he was expected to play an important role in Miami’s rotation, as we were all led to believe. Just the year prior, Stoudemire proved to be a valuable asset off the bench for the Dallas Mavericks, averaging nearly 11 points per game in his stint there.

His actual role would turn out to be the complete opposite, and he himself mentioned it after the season concluded just a couple of weeks ago. Of the 82 regular season games played, Stoudemire only appeared in 52, starting 36 of them before Erik Spoelstra moved Whiteside back into the starting lineup.

Overall, Stoudemire can still be a valuable piece to a title contending team, and his services could very well warrant more than the veteran minimum deal the Heat will likely offer.

Prediction: Stoudemire signs elsewhere.
