Miami Heat: 5 potential free agents in the NBA Finals
1. Festus Ezeli
2015-16 Season: Ezeli battled injury while playing in 46 games, starting 13. He averaged 7.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in those contests. It’s not until you dig a little deeper into his stats that his value really shines. Those numbers double across the board to 15.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per-36 minutes, making him an extremely interesting option as a starter going forward.
Contract Status: Ezeli, like Barnes above, enters the market under the restricted free agent guidelines. It seems unlikely that the Warriors will be unable to match the contracts both Barnes or Ezeli are likely to warrant, especially with the upcoming negotiations for Stephen Curry.
Does He Fit In Miami? It depends. If the Heat have a big desire to bring Hassan Whiteside back, then Ezeli is not a good fit, as they do alot of the same things. But if the Heat are content in letting Whiteside walk, Ezeli could be a very viable option that may come at a lower cost.
