The Miami Heat are hoping for Justise Winslow to improve and continue to progress in 2016-2017, his sophomore season. Here are three ways he can improve.
When the Miami Heat drafted Justise Winslow with the 10th overall pick, many in the NBA were surprised. He was seen as one of the top talents in the entire draft and no one was expecting someone with his talent to drop all the way down to Miami.
Winslow paid dividends his rookie season for the Heat franchise. While his offense was not up to the part that fans wanted, Winslow provided a lot on defense and was able to sneak his way onto the All-Rookie second team.
Almost every night, Winslow was tasked with defending the best offensive player on the opposing team. Most nights, Winslow made the opposing team’s best offensive player work harder and even struggle to do exactly what they wanted to do on offense.
While fans probably expected more offense from a talent like Winslow, he did more than expected from a rookie on the defensive side of the ball and can still improve offensively as he gets more seasoning.
Remember, Winslow is just 20-years old and has a lot of time to develop.
However, Winslow will need to improve certain things during the 2016-2017 season to become the star player that he has all the talent and potential to become. With Luol Deng’s future with the Heat in doubt, Winslow very well could be depended on as a starter next season for the Heat.
Here are three ways Justise Winslow can improve and take the next step next season.
