Grading all the Miami Heat’s free agent acquisitions
The deal: One year, $1.2 million dollars.
Analysis: The Heat hope to get the Babbitt who finished the season for the Pelicans. In the final month of the 2015-16 season, Babbitt saw increased playing time due to injuries and averaged 15.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Teams have to respect Babbitt’s shooting and he can help space the floor. However, Coach Spoelstra is not known for playing one dimensional shooters. Babbitt will have to become a better defender if he wants to play in Miami.
At the league minimum, Babbitt’s contract is a bargain for a proven shooter.
On-court Impact: Mostly meh, but does space the floor.
Grade: C+
