Aftermath and Departure

Needless to say, it’s been one of the more devastating summers a Heat fan could ask for, even worse than James’s departure in July 2014. Not only did key contributors Luol Deng and Joe Johnson go elsewhere, but Dwyane Tyrone Wade Jr, the biggest sports icon Miami has ever know, the face of the Heat franchise for 13 years, will be leaving for the Windy City to join his hometown Chicago Bulls.

Nobody saw it coming, and quite frankly, I was speechless. It’s just so hard to picture Wade in any other uniform, it’ll be weird seeing him on a team with former rivals Rajon Rondo and Jimmy Butler, but the Heat must try to move on, and so must the fans.

No. 3 is still going to be hanging from the rafters of the AmericanAirlines Arena one day. Miami is, and will always be Wade’s city.

Let’s face it: it’s a bitter ending that most feel should have never happened. You can’t predicate anything on what if’s. Wade is a Bull, and it’s up to Pat Riley and company to pick of the pieces.

The only question, is how long will it take?
