Goran Dragic returns to form

There’s been much talk about Goran Dragic’s regression since signing his big-money deal during the 2015 offseason. After making All-NBA honors in 2013-14, he hasn’t quite returned to that form since arriving in Miami nearly two years ago.

This past season, Dragic averaged his lowest amount of points since the 2012-13 season, at just 14.1 per game. He dished out only 5.8 assists per game while also shooting his lowest field goal percentage in four seasons.

While the Dragon may have had a couple of key moments during Miami’s most recent playoff run, it clearly wasn’t enough to get the Heat past the Toronto Raptors. It was painfully obvious at points that Dragic didn’t always mesh well with former Heat captain Dwyane Wade.

While the two never butted heads, neither seemed to perform at their peak on the floor together. Some feel that with Wade now in Chicago, it will give Dragic even more freedom to operate than during his Phoenix days.

A bounce-back season from the eight year veteran from Slovenia is exactly what fans in South Florida are longing for, and they may just see that come October.
