Don’t expect the Miami Heat to add anyone for its playoff run.

According to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson, the Miami Heat are in no rush to sign one of several players that are currently, or expected to be, free agents after getting bought out from their respective teams.

"The Heat hasn’t shown interest in any of the buyout candidates: There are maturity concerns with forward forward Terrence Jones and position duplication with wing players Omri Casspi (who’s injured anyway) and Marcus Thornton. The Heat would have had interest in Cleveland-bound center Andrew Bogut if Willie Reed’s injury had been more serious."

With the Heat passing on the buyout market, that could mean they aren’t looking to speed up the process of clearing Chris Bosh’s contract — and his roster spot — from the salary cap.

The Heat were expected to wait until after March 1 to begin that process.

Of note: Miami seems comfortable with its current lack of center depth following Willie Reed’s leg injury. The Heat have been without Reed for two games now, going 1-1 (a loss to the Mavericks and win over the 76ers). They’ve used Okaro White as a backup center, as well as playing James Johnson some minutes in the middle. This could also mean that the team expects Reed to return sooner rather than later.

Next: What makes the Heat's defense so good?

It’s unclear if the Heat will move off its position but, for now, they are either content with the roster as is or unimpressed by who is currently available.
