Report: Miami Heat, Chris Bosh have ‘mended’ relationship
By Wes Goldberg
The Miami Heat and Chris Bosh are on better terms, according to a report. That’s important for the team this offseason.
Despite an exciting season for the Miami Heat, its broken relationship with Chris Bosh somewhat put a stain on the season but, according to a new report, both sides have put that behind them.
The organization distanced itself from Bosh before the season due to his health issues, and the messy PR battle that ensued left many wondering if the Heat damaged their credibility with players. According to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson, the Heat and Bosh have extended an olive branch.
"The organization has mended its relationship with Bosh in recent weeks, with direct contact between Bosh and the top of the organization, in advance of his impending release and removal of his salary from Miami’s cap.[…]Bosh is ready to move on and is no longer angry with the Heat, an NBA-employed friend said."
The Heat did a lot to not only maintain its credibility, but increase its status among NBA players this season. The 30-11 turnaround in the second half of the season provided a launching point for stories about turnarounds by James Johnson and Dion Waiters, and the overall “Culture” movement pushed by the team on social media.
However, spot appearances from Bosh reminded those that the relationship between the team and him was still broken. Like when Bosh during an TNT’s Players Only broadcast chose a Raptors jersey to hang behind him in a locker room segment, despite still technically being a member of the Heat (on future segments, they replaced it with a Heat jersey). Bosh also often spoke about a potential return.

This report that Bosh is “no longer angry” with the Heat is a relief. It’d be a shame if one of the team’s most important and beloved players was left angry with the organization.
