The Miami Heat have officially said goodbye to Chris Bosh, which has pretty much wiped the Big Three era clean. Here’s a look at his top 5 moments in a Heat uniform.

The Miami Heat waived Chris Bosh this week, completing a sad journey since the summer of 2014. One of the final pieces of the big three era, Bosh had endeared himself to the Heat fan base by being both an amazing player and amazing person. He worked tirelessly on being the best player he could be, transforming himself from the third wheel to possibly the most important member of the Heat during that time. Here’s a look at the top five moments of his time in Miami:

5. June 12, 2011 – Bosh cries

So, this one is a bit unorthodox, but still a pretty important moment. After the Heat lost the 2011 NBA Finals, a cut away to the locker room hallway showed Bosh doubled over in tears over losing. It was this moment that endeared Bosh to Heat fans. Not only did he show that he was fully invested in winning, it was a show of being unapologetic about his emotions. He wasn’t pretending that losing didn’t hurt and gained a huge amount of respect in the process. While it wasn’t an on-court moment, it was still pivotal in the Big Three story.

4. January 5, 2012 – Game vs. Atlanta Hawks (33 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, game-tying buzzer beater)

This could very well be my favorite Chris Bosh game with the Miami Heat. With LeBron James and Dwyane Wade each sitting the game out, it was a perfect chance for Bosh to show why he belonged in the conversation as an equal member of the Big Three. With an equal number of finishes at the basket, mid-range jump shots, and timing deep shooting, Bosh put on a show. The most memorable moment of this game was the game-tying buzzer beater. Working the pick-and-pop with Mario Chalmers with just five seconds remaining, Bosh caught the ball and fired with about three seconds left, falling through the net with 0.6 seconds remaining to force overtime.

3. December 28, 2013 – Game Winner vs. Portland

Bosh developed a penchant for showing up big when James or Wade sat out for injury or rest. This contest against Portland was no different. With James sitting out, Bosh put on one of his best performances in a Heat uniform. However, the Miami Heat needed his heroics with the game on the line again. Down by 2 with three seconds remaining, Bosh received a pass from Wade about 30 feet out and released a three that splashed down with 0.5 to give the Heat the win. The celebration after may have been better than the shot itself.

2. March 31, 2013 – Game Winner vs. Spurs

Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but Bosh stepped up in a major way with James and Wade missing a game. In a prelude to what would be an amazing NBA Finals, the Heat and Spurs played a highly competitive game, even in the absence of the two stars. Like the previous two moments, Bosh took a pass behind the arc with the clock winding down, and knocked down the shot to give the Heat a one point win.

1. June 18, 2013 – Bosh saves Game 6 for the Heat

The top moment on this list is a no-brainer. With the Heat looking defeat directly in the eyes, Bosh made the plays of his life. With the Heat down by three with nine seconds left, LeBron James put up a desperation three-pointer that missed. Bosh put himself in position and grabbed the offensive rebound and immediately passing the ball out to Ray Allen. We all know what happened after that. In addition to that play, Bosh also made the game-winning block on Danny Green at the end of overtime to preserve the Heat’s win.

Although Bosh may be underrated in a majority of the basketball community, these moments and others not listed, have ingratiated Bosh into the hearts of Miami Heat fans everywhere.

While it is more than likely that Bosh’s playing career is done, being able to find these moments and relive them at any time will keep Bosh’s career alive and well. Thank You for everything, Chris.
