4. The Back-To-Back Domination Over The Cleveland Cavaliers

The Miami Heat went 3-1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016-17. (Cue all the 3-1 Golden State Warriors references.)

Two of those wins happening back-to-back.

Yes, the Heat beat LeBron James and company on both Saturday, March 4 and Monday, March 6, 2017. First going 120-92, and then 106-98.

However, on March 4, neither James nor (soon-to-be-ex) teammate Kyrie Irving suited up. So while the win was a worthy victory nevertheless…

…it felt so much better the second time around.

While Dion Waiters finished as the leading scorer with 29 points, Goran Dragic racked up 21 of his own. Wayne Ellington also went to work with 18, on 5-of-10 from three. And Hassan Whiteside totaled 13 points and 11 rebounds.

You better believe president Pat Riley loved every minute of that defeat too.

2016-17 was an exciting one for the Miami Heat. But here’s to an even more prosperous 2017-18.
